Teyolia Folklorica was founded in 2024 to address the need for accessible cultural arts and education resources, particularly for underrepresented youth and communities. The organization emerged from the Heights High School Ballet Folklorico club, initially created by a passionate group of students. When the school could no longer support the club, the dance director, along with dedicated parents and students, decided to continue their journey. They established Teyolia Folklorica to preserve and extend the club’s cultural and educational impact, ensuring that the community continued to benefit from Mexican folkloric dance and cultural education.
